Adopting on a Web Page

#1. Right click on the kitty of your choice and save it. Do NOT direct link to the kitty from my page! Dreamwater does not allow you to do that, it steals my bandwidth. Please save a copy and upload it onto your own web page space.
#2. Next, upload your kitty onto your own webpage space. Please do NOT link from this sight. The correct link back is given below.
#3. Add the below html code to your page where you will be keeping your Anime Kitty.

<table border= "1"> <tr><td> <a href= "http://animekitties.extra-muffins.com/"><img src= "filename.jpg" height= "150"></td> <td>This ____ Kitty <br>was adopted from <br><a href= "http://animekitties.extra-muffins.com/">Ghost's Anime Page</a></tr></td> </table>
NOTE: You do not have to use this code if you don't want to. As long as you've got the graphic and a link back to my page you can have it any way you want. Be sure to link back to this url: http://animekitties.extra-muffins.com/

#4. Only AFTER the kitties are up on your page E-mail me And for the love of anime, don't put it in the guestbook! Please just e-mail it to me, it's so much easier that way.

All you have to do is send me your URL and tell me where your kitty or kitties are. Even easier, if you just send me the exact URL the kitties are at that is fine too.

DO NOT:

  • DO NOT save your kitties on your personal computer drives and then link them from there. They need to be on your web page account or no one else can see them.
  • DO NOT forget to link back to me. For the love of all that's holy, don't forget that! I'm so sick of e-mailing people after they've sent in their information because there's no link. That link is a sign that you have my permission to use the kitties. When there isn't a link, people assume I am not aware of your adoption and they do nark you out to me.
  • DO NOT e-mail your adoption notice to me if your page/kitties are not already up. I hate it when people do this! I've got this huge list of people I'm still waiting on to get their kitties and even their web pages up. Just wait until it's all done before you send it to me.
  • DO NOT take a month to respond when I e-mail you. Now, I only e-mail people who have a problem with their kitties they posted such as a broken graphic link. PLEASE, when I inform you of the problem take care of it right away. It takes like a minute to fix a link. If you don't have that much free time to take care of your kitty you shouldn't have adopted one in the first place.

    Adopting Without a Web Page

This one is easy. If you want some kitties, but don't have a page to post them at, just simply right click and save the ones you want. You can save them to a disk, your computer, or even print them out if you want. And afterwards, you don't even have to e-mail me. Only if the kitty is going up on the internet do I need to be informed.

Why Can't I Adopt A Kitty On My Neopets Account?

There are a few reasons I won't allow this:

#1. Most Neopets accounts do not allow you to upload your own graphics onto your account which is one of the main adoption rules for the kitties. Therefore you're not allowed to adopt.
#2. Only other members of Neopets are allowed to even see the pages which kind of diminishes the point of posting them.
#3. This one is more personal for me. Neopets hosts these "beauty pagents" every once in a while for which members of Neopets often STEAL my art and either alter it or just claim it as their own for it. And the Neopets staff does not care. These fanart stealing idiots have given the few, decent members of Neopets a bad name. And since Neopts obviously doesn't care about the rights of other artists, I will not support their pages, nor have my art posted on them.

Adopting on a Blog, Online Journal, or Message Board

This can get a little tricky. I know a lot of blogs and journals don't allow you to upload your own graphics onto the account. Which is one of the first rules of adopting an anime kitty. If you can't upload it, you can't adopt it. However, if yours is a special case, then scroll up to the top of the page and follow the web page adoption rules.

As for message boards, I have had a few people ask me if they could use a kitty or two in their signatures. I will accept that as long as the graphic is not altered (though it may be resized or even cropped a bit, but you can't just use the kitty head or something) and there also has to be a link back to my page somewhere along with it. As long as I get credit, I don't mind you using them for such things. :)

    Can I Use A Kitty for My Page's Background/Banner/Etc?

Usually, I say no for using my kitties in your personal layouts. They look hideously aweful as web page backgrounds. I sincerely hope no one ever tries it. Also, I will not allow you to make banners and buttons with my kitties for your own site. That's false advertising. Make a banner from stuff that's from your page, not from mine. Any other questions about using kitties on a page, e-mail me at ghostofdawn@hotmail.com
